DTSB&Co is dedicated to global dialogue. Under the
guidance of Dana Tai Soon Burgess, the company has
toured as U.S. State Department representatives for
American modern dance to Canada, Ecuador, Egypt,
Germany, India, Israel, Korea, Latvia, Mexico,
Mongolia, the West Bank, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, Russia
and Venezuela to name a few. The company creates
multi-tiered performance and educational workshops that
engage with communities that range from general arts
audiences to at risk youth. The major goal of their
touring is to forge and strengthen much needed
friendships through the arts in order to find the
intersection points between different cultures, thus
dance is used as a bridge between varying cultural
perspectives. Important to DTSB&Co is the
continuation of relationships created abroad. The
company has assisted the touring of the National Ballet
to the Kennedy Center, hosted artists from
England, Greece, India and Korea in the United States
and sponsored dancers from Chile, Japan, Korea,
Mongolia and Peru.
